The South Carolina Republican Presidential Primary will be held Saturday, January 19; and the Democratic Primary will take place one week later on Saturday, January 26.

Bamberg County voters may choose which Primary they participate in, but they can only vote in one. South Carolina does NOT register voters by party, so any registered voter can vote in either Primary.

Voting in the January Presidential Primary does not in any way hinder a voter from voting in the June Primary or the November General Election.

A voter must present a valid voters registration certificate, a valid driver’s license, or a picture ID issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to vote. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at all regular polling locations in Bamberg County, EXCEPT HIGHTOWERS MILL PRECINCT.

Hightowers Mill voters will vote at the West Denmark Precinct, which is located in the Depot.
