Grooms celebrate 50th anniversary

Chaplain (Major General) Charles Grooms, and his wife Betty, the former Betty Jean Richardson, celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on February 14, 2008. They celebrated the golden anniversary by spending an 8- day vacation in Nashville, Ten., sponsored by their two daughters and their husbands and their two grandchildren; Mrs. Charlene "Sheri" G. Simon and husband, Steven, children, Kimberly and Joseph, all of Florence, and Evie G. Smith and her husband, Cliff, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Both Charles and Betty were born and raised in Bamberg. They met while they were students attending Bamberg High School, during the 1957-58 school year.

Aubrey Gracie - Elizabeth Mishoe

Danny and Elizabeth Mishoe would like to proudly announce the birth of their fourth child, Aubrey Gracie-Elizabeth Mishoe. Gracie was born on February 15, 2008, at 11:27 p.m. in the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg. She weighed 5 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 18 5/8" long.

Maternal Grandparents are Joni and Charles Fairchild of Bamberg.

Paternal Grandparents are Danny and Judy Mishoe of Barnwell, and Terry and Chris Sanders of Barnwell.
