Mrs. Pearl O'Quinn Bassett
Ayer, age 101, of Ehrhardt,
entered into her state of eternal
rest Monday morning, February
1, 2010, at Bamberg Nursing
Center, following an extended
illness. Funeral services were
conducted Thursday,
February 4, 2010, at St. John's
Baptist Church in Ehrhardt. Mrs. Ayer was born
November 4, 1908, in the
Islandton section of Colleton
County and was a daughter of
the late Robert Millwood
O'Quinn and the late Sarah
Stone O'Quinn.
Johnny Clyde Edgemon,
80, of Bamberg, passed away
Saturday, February 6, 2010.
Born April 9, 1929, in Orangeburg County, Clyde was
the son of the late Willie and Annie Mae Edgemon.
The memorial service for
Mrs. Ida "Sister" Glover, 55, of
Branchville, was held Friday, January 29, 2010, at the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's
Witnesses, Orangeburg. Mrs. Glover was born in
Bamberg. She was a daughter of
the late Harry Richburg Sr. and
Mae Boatwright Richburg.
Funeral services for Mr.
Clinton James, 85, of Denmark,
were held Saturday,
February 6, 2010, at Rome
Baptist Church in Denmark. Mr. James was born on May
28, 1924, to the late Moses
James and Hattie Bell Jenkins James.
The funeral for Mr. Harry
“Chief” Johnson, Jr., 79, of
Denmark, was held Friday, February 5, 2010, in
Rome Baptist Church in Denmark. Harry was born on May 17,
1930, in Bamberg County to the
late Harry Johnson Sr. and the late
Ruth Hartwell.
Jimmy Pindak, 59, of
Orangeburg, died Tuesday
morning, February 2, 2010, at his
residence. A memorial service was held
Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Northgate Baptist
Church. Mr. Pindak was born in
Balrahkanhal, Germany, a son of
Katharene Mendyszewska Pindak
and the late Antoni Pindak.
Fred B. Proveaux Jr., 74, of
Phoenix, Arizona, went to be with
the Lord on February 4, 2010,
after a 3 year battle with cancer.
A celebration of Fred’s life
was held Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Green Acres
Glendale Mortuary.
Ernest Ridgeway, 64, of
Barnwell, passed away on
Thursday, February 4, 2010, at
Barnwell County Hospital.
Ernest was born in Alcolu on
February 17, 1945. He was a son
of the late James I. and Ida Wood Ridgeway.
