William Wesley Barrs, 33, of Bamberg, died Monday, December 28, 2009. Mr. Barrs was born in Bamberg, a son of the late Thomas M. Barrs and Ramona P. Barrs. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 2, 2009, in Branchville.

Clayton Leon Jolly Jr., 80, of Bamberg, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Bryan Dorn Veterans Hospital in Columbia. The funeral was held Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Edisto Baptist Church, Branchville. Mr. Jolly was born March 7, 1929, in Bamberg, a son of the late Clayton Leon Jolly Sr. and Ora Bessinger Jolly.

Edrick Hugo "Bubba" Lyons Jr., 61, of Beaufort, and formerly of Bamberg, died January 2, 2010, at the Medical University of South Carolina after an extended illness. The funeral was held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Bamberg. Mr. Lyons was born March 7, 1948, at Lodge. S.C., the son of the late Edrick Hugo Lyons Sr. and the late Margaret Barnes Lyons.

Mr. Sammie Middleton, 87, of Blackville, died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Barnwell County Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 31, 2009.

Mr. Willie Richardson Jr. of Denmark died Monday, December 28, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 31, 2009. Mr. Richardson, the son of the late Willie (Booster) Richardson Sr. and Louise W. Richardson, was born in Bamberg County.

Mrs. Marie Lyvon Smoak Stenroos, 69 years of age, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Colleton Medical Center, in Walterboro. Mrs. Stenroos was born in Charleston Co., a daughter of the late W. Percy Altman and Patty Harriott Altman. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 7, 2010.

Funeral services for Mrs. Roser Lee Stephens, 93, of Smoaks, were held in the Springtown United Methodist Church in Smoaks. Mrs. Stephens was born September 7, 1916, in Colleton County to the late Carrie and Mark Allen.

Mr. Charles Turner Tuten, Sr., 74, of Bamberg Highway near Brunson, SC, died late Friday evening January 1, 2010 at his residence after an extended illness. Born June 5, 1935 in Ehrhardt, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest Jerome Tuten and Janie Benton. Funeral services were held Monday, January 4, 2010 at Sandy Run Baptist Church near Hampton.

The funeral for Barbara Ann Orr Watkins, 60, of Columbia, and formerly of Bamberg, were held Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Bamberg.

Funeral services for Herbert Lee Wiggins Sr., 81, of Islandton, were held on Sunday, January 3, 2010, in the McCune Branch Baptist Church in Lodge. Mr. Wiggins died December 30, 2009 at Colleton County Medical Center. He was born March 8, 1928, in Ashton to the late Otis and Minnie Jones Wiggins.
