The Christmas spirit, along with
good cheer, was spreading throughout
Bamberg County on Saturday as folks
participated in the Christmas Tour of
Homes. The tour was sponsored by
the Bamberg County Chamber of
Commerce.
Nine county residents opened
their tastefully decorated homes for
the tour. Nancy Foster, Chris and
Dana Wilson, Richard and Alice
Kemp, James and Sherry Sease,
Mikki Murden, Alfred and Judy
Bazzle, Jerry and Linda Bell, John and
Marianas, Frank and Shirley Ogle,
and the historic Mizpah Church were
on the tour.
Each home was decorated
differently and reflected the owner’s
personality. Some were whimsical
while others were traditional
displaying live greenery and lots of
red and green. In one of the homes,
there was a Carolina Tree decorated
with gamecock paraphernalia. Most
all of the homes served refreshments
and some even had hot apple cider
and coffee which was a good idea
considering how cold it was Saturday.
“Fifty percent of all the proceeds
will be donated to MAMAS-Mary
Ann Morris Animal Shelter in
Bamberg County,” said Nancy Foster,
one of the committee members.
“The Tour of Homes unites the
communities and brings the county
together to help spread the holiday
cheer and warms the spirit,” Foster
said. “With this being the first tour,
and approximately 50 to 60 people
touring the homes, I think it was a
great turnout. I hope we can make this
an annual tradition.”
Another tour for next year is
already being planned.
The Chamber thanks everyone who opened their homes to the public to share holiday
decorating ideas and all the great stories that surrounded
the homes, not to mention the good cheer and festive
atmosphere that came with it. |
