A large audience of family
members, friends, co-workers, and
well wishers were on hand Monday
night April 13 as reelected and
newly elected city of Bamberg officials
were sworn-in to office by
Bamberg City Clerk/Treasurer
Bruce Watson.

Watson administered the oath
of office for four year terms to
Mayor Alton McCollum, newly
elected District 4 Councilmember
Ronald W. “Buzzy” Bunch; District
5 Councilmember Nancy Foster,
who was unopposed; and District 6
Councilmember Bo Griffin, who
was also unopposed.
Clerk Watson administered the
oath of office for a six year term to
newly elected Board of Public
Works Commissioner Buddy
Sandifer on Friday April 10 at City
Hall.
After being sworn-in on
Friday, Sandifer said “I want to
thank the citizens of Bamberg that
had confidence in me to put me in
office as a commissioner on the
Board of Public Works of Bamberg.
I will work with the people; I will
do what’s best for the people. We
have a fine group of employees at
the Board of Public Works and I
want to see Bamberg move forward.
I’m very experienced in city
government having served for 24
years, and 40 years experience in
the utility business, which will be a
plus for the Board of Public Works.
I’m looking forward to being the
new man on the block. The experience
I bring will help everyone;
again, I just want to thank the voters
for electing me to this office.”
