Ringing Out the Old and Ringing In the New

New Years Day is just a few short days away. More than any other day it inspires us to reflect. The whole world seems to take this day to stop and reflect on where they are, where they have been and where they want to go. It’s a time when almost everyone seems to set goals.

God has been good to me over the last year. He has lifted me from a long period of growth and into a very fast pace, energizing career path. He has brought me back to the career choice that when found, I loved, Advertising Sales.

I didn’t consciously choose a career in advertising; it kind of chose me. In 1996, in between jobs and looking for something that would provide a decent income I took a job selling advertising with a company called Magnolia Graphics, and found a career that I really enjoyed doing. The companies have changed, but the passion for the job has not. I truly love working with a client to help them find an advertising plan that will work for them. I love providing a service that can help the clients increase their business, and I love the wonderful people I get to meet along the way.

Since coming to The Advertizer-Herald Publishing Company a little over a year ago, I have also had the opportunity to develop a new skill. I am also now a reporter/staff writer. Saying that still intimidates me. I am learning, slowly, but enjoy the challenge. I have met a lot of great people through this side line and developed a sincere concern for Bamberg County that I didn’t have before I became involved. To all those who have guided me and to those I have had the opportunity to meet and learn from through this part of my job, it has been a real pleasure.

To all the new clients and to all the renewed clients that I have come into contact with this past year, I thank you. I thank you for the relationships we have developed and for the trust you have put in me and this company by doing business with us.

And as we ring in 2008, I look forward to building on the past year and growing and learning with you all. Happy New Year, a couple of days early.
