Thanks postal carriers

Dear Editor,

We wish to thank the Bamberg Postal carriers for the food they collected May 8th and also to thank those in Bamberg who contributed to the drive.

Our pantry was getting low due to the increased requests for food and we were so glad to stock up our shelves.

As you may know, we help all people, regardless of race and color - if they are in need, we help.

The Postal carriers have this added job of collecting and we appreciate their hard work.

Voorhees thanks Sheriff's office

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, students, faculty, and staff, thank you for your contribution of $3,500 on April 10, 2008 to the Voorhees College - In Kind donation - (protected vest and emergency radio).

Voorhees College did not provide Bamberg County Sheriff Office with any goods or services in consideration, in whole or in part for this contribution.

Please know how much we genuinely appreciate your continued support and dedication to the mission of Voorhees College. As Voorhees enters a new era of enlightenment, we are truly grateful for your continued financial commitment to the students of this institution.

Again, thank you for helping to make the dreams of receiving a quality education a reality for deserving young women and men.

Thank you Bamberg residents

Dear Editor,

As Community Manager for the American Cancer Society, I would like to thank residents of Bamberg County for their generosity and support of Bamberg County’s Relay for Life. Teams and their participants in this year’s event have successfully raised over $35,000 for the American Cancer Society’s research, education, advocacy, and service programs. The outstanding support received proves that the people of Bamberg County are truly committed to the fight against cancer.

I want to applaud the 33 cancer survivors that participated in the opening lap and the survivor recognition. They are the reason we continue the fight because each year there can be more and more people living wonderful lives following a diagnosis of cancer.

A special thanks goes to the many Relay For Life volunteers who worked to make this event a success. The Relay For Life committee did an outstanding job of putting the event together. We also appreciate the generosity of this year’s corporate sponsors. Relay For Life would not be possible without them. Again, thank you for supporting the American Cancer Society, and remember it’s not too early to become involved in Relay For Life for next year.
