“Houdini” may be the appropriate nickname for a Denmark man sought on alleged burglary charges that has managed to elude city of Denmark, Bamberg County Sheriff Office and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) officers looking to put him behind bars.

Olando Roshaund Moody, 18, of 124 Cow Pie Road in Denmark is wanted by the Denmark Police Department and the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office for the alleged offenses of burglary second and burglary third degree.

According to a city of Denmark police incident report on September 23, around 5:15pm. Denmark officers were dispatched to Redwood Court in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival officers met with a victim who stated she was the last one to leave the house around 8:30am and when she returned around 4:30pm she found someone had entered a rear window, forced a rear door open, entered the house and “went through everything” taking a change jar and a 62” flat screen TV, (that would reportedly take three people to move).

According to the report officers only found two sets of foot tracks outside the window and nearby areas. One shoe print was an “Air Jordan” sneaker and the other tennis shoe was not recognizable by the officers. According to the report a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 3 Games were also taken in that incident.

Also on September 23, at approximately 4:01pm units of the Denmark Police Department were dispatched to Hanes Street in reference to an alleged break-in. Officers on the scene spoke with a victim after a foot chase with a suspect identified as Olando Moody. According to the report Moody ran after seeing police cars approaching.

Denmark officers ran after Moody into a wooded area “jumping through” worn down wire fences with the suspect falling down and getting back up continuing to run away from the officers. According to the report officers eventually lost sight of the subject. Denmark Police officers were joined in the search for Moody by Bamberg County Sheriff Department officers, South Carolina Law Enforce Division (SLED) officers with tracking dogs and a helicopter all looking for the subject.

Denmark Police officers went back to the house the subject was to have allegedly broke in and spoke with the victim, who stated that at approximately 4:00pm she went out to check the mail and when she returned to the house to help her daughter find some clothes she found a black male, wearing black shorts, slim, short hair cut, who ran out the back door. The victim stated that the subject took some coins off her dresser that was in a plastic container valued at “$5.00”

According to the report the subject was spotted in an area close to the house on Hanes Street that was broken into. The subject is also wanted by the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office for burglary 3rd and escaped from the custody of a Sheriff’s Deputy making an arrest three weeks prior.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this person is encouraged to contact the Denmark Police Department.
