On Tuesday, August 28th,
Bamberg Native, Governor
Nikki Haley spoke at the
Republican National
Convention (RNC) in Tampa
Bay, Florida. Hurricane Isaac
threatened the area with his
raging storm, but Governor
Haley was able to attend the
event, to make a speech
supporting Republican
Candidate for Presidency, Mitt
Romney.
The supportive relationship
the two political leaders share is
nothing new. During the summer
of 2010, Romney demonstrated
his support for Haley's
candidacy for governor during
an appearance at Floyd and
Dot's Restaurant in Bamberg.
Now, as Haley returns the favor
to Romney with her presence at
the RNC, South Carolina shares the spotlight on the political
stage.
Haley's accomplishments
continue to assure South
Carolina's political future. By
looking at the efforts Haley put
forth to achieve the position she
currently holds, it is apparent the
process was not as dazzling as it
may have seemed. However, our
governor is not afraid to stand up
for the beliefs she holds, nor
question decisions made by the
other departments and members
of government.
As Haley continues
bringing a individualistic point
of view to South Carolina
politics, and support to Romney
in his candidacy for presidency,
it is certain the Bamberg
Community will maintain a
pride in knowing this quest is
directed by one of our own.
