Green Light
Dear Editor,
The Constitution of the U.S.
gives me the green light to call
the president of our nation an
idiot. He can't shut me up - He
can't lock me up - He can't sue
me. The bill of rights within this
document is very clear on this
freedom to do so.
Bush Jr. is not alone in the
idiotic conduct of his administration.
However, his inability to
understand history and foreign
policy procedures spotlights him
as the main culprit. His failure
to act diligently and prudently is
backed up by court jesters
Richard Cheney, Donald
Rumsfeld, Karl Rove and the former
house majority whip Tom
Delay. These politicians brought
about the largest foreign policy
blunder in the history of our
nation. The actions of the above
idiots and the remarks they make
are an insult to Americans.
This blunder was their decision
to invade Iraq. Before this
blunder, I had very high praise
for Bush, Jr. The gladiator in
2001. His decision to go into
Afghanistan to defeat the Taliban
and destroy their training camps
won high marks in the grade
book. Maybe I was wrong - his
ratings soared - he looked and
acted every bit a person of presidential
timber. However, Bush Jr.
became a politician again. He fell
into a period of flawed strategy.
He went entirely off the script.
Bush Jr. tried to convince the
nation that the war on terror and
the war with Iraq were synonymous.
I quote the Republican Chuck Hagel, U.S. Senator from Nebraska - "Things
aren't getting better; they're getting
worse." The White House is
completely disconnected from
reality." "It's like they're making
it up as they go along.
Finally, our political leadership
has failed us. I know it - you
know it - Bush Jr. does not know
it. Americans no longer trust
Bush Jr. and his administration.
Even today, his aides are diving
into the history books to see what
procedures they can come up
with to stop this hemorrhage and
try to revive some measures that
they hope will treat him kindly in
future years.

Red Cross thanks you
We did it again - with the
help of over 300 people at the
annual Bingo Fund Raiser for
the Bamberg County American
Red Cross. It was the biggest
crowd we have had since the first
one over twenty years ago.
It was a financial success
wrapping up a great Red Cross
Month. To name all the volunteers
participating is impossible
but a few were key persons in key
responsibilities such as the Jr.
Red Cross gals under the supervision
of Charlotte Grooms,
Connie Ferguson and Minnie
Miller handling sales for the
drinks and snacks.
Then there was Paul
Sandifer (Disaster Chair)
Chairing the project. Johnnie
Hyatt, Board Chair was all over
the place doing what ever was
needed. Beth Pregnall and Genie
Bellamy handling ticket sales to a
line of folks that went all the way
out to the street.
The wonderful Bingo prizes
from retailers and monetary contributions
from professional businesses
are really the key to making
the event a success.
