Niki Erlin Granneberg
Brooker, 59, of Denmark, died
peacefully at home on Thursday,
February 9, 2012. A memorial service was
held Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Bethel
Park United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brooker was born
December 28, 1952, in
Roseville, Calif., a daughter of
the late Harold and Phyllis Granneberg. Niki was born in California
and moved throughout
California during her lifetime,
spending her past 13 years in
Denmark after marriage. She
graduated from Point Loma
High School in San Diego and
attended American River Junior
College in Sacramento. In her
professional life, she worked as
a secretary in Sacramento with
the State Justice Department and
later, for nine years, as a
secretary for attorney David
Crum of Denmark.
Richard W. Campbell, 55,
of Summerville, died
Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
Mr. Campbell was born
November 19, 1956, in
Walterboro, a son of W. A. ‘Bill’
and Maurice W. Campbell.
He was an avid golfer,
loved camping, fishing and
spending time at the lake with
his family and friends. He was
also a loyal South Carolina fan.
Funeral services were
conducted Saturday, February 10, 2012, at Smoaks
United Methodist Church.
Barbara Lynn Staley
Jennings, 83, of Cordova, died
Sunday, February 12, 2012, at
the Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service was held Wednesday,
February 15, 2012, at Bethlehem
Cemetery. Mrs. Jennings was born
near Cope, a daughter of the late
Belton Otis and Mary Ella
"Mollie" Vallentine Staley. She
was a graduate of the University
of South Carolina. Mrs.
Jennings was a retired school
teacher, having taught in the
Bamberg, Charleston, Horry and
Orangeburg counties. She was a
member of First Southern
Methodist Church.
Ogretta Moye Johnson,
105, of Denmark, died Monday,
February 6, 2012, at her
residence. Funeral services were held Friday, February 10,
2012, at Franklin United
Methodist Church in Denmark. Mrs. Johnson was born
May 16, 1906, in Olar.
Mrs. Evelyn Killian Kearse,
88, widow of Robert Lee Kearse
Jr., died Monday, February 13,
2012, at the Regional Medical
Center, Orangeburg, after an
extended illness. Born June 26, 1923, Evelyn
was the only child born to
Evelyn and MacKay Killian of
Great Falls, where she spent the
earlier years of her life. Mrs.
Kearse was a proud graduate of
Winthrop College, where she
received her undergraduate
degree and of the University of
South Carolina, where she
received a master's degree in
education.
Funeral services were held Wednesday,
February 15, 2012, at Trinity
United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kearse was a retired
school teacher with 36 years of
service, all of which was
devoted to Bamberg School District One. Prior to her
illness, Mrs. Kearse was a very
active member of her church,
serving as a Sunday school
teacher and in various capacities
of the United Methodist Women.
The funeral for Cappers
Mallard Walling, 72, of St.
Matthews, was held Friday, February 10, 2012, at
Congaree Baptist Church in St.
Matthews. He was born December 17,
1939, in Lodge, the son of the
late Laurie B. Walling and the
late Bertha Elease Lane Walling.
He was a member of Congaree
Baptist Church and was retired
from Starflo Corporation.
Francis Lamar Zorn, Sr. 75,
passed away Sunday, February
5, 2012 in Tallahassee.
He is survived by his wife
of 50 years, Mary Catherine
Zorn of Crawfordville, FL.
He retired from the U.S.
Navy as a Master Chief E-9,
after 23 years. He has been in
this area 12 years coming from
California. He was a member of
First Baptist Church of
Crawfordville. He loved sports.
After retiring from the Navy he
went to work in Military Civil
Service and retired in 1998 with
over 20 years. Services were held, Friday,
February 10, 2012 at First
Baptist Church of Crawfordville, Crawfordville,
FL.
