Msgt. (Ret) James Cecil
Gibson, Sr., 72, of Denmark
and Montgomery, AL went
home to be with Jesus on
Saturday, December 31, 2011.
He was born on September 6,
1939 in Denmark. He was
preceded in death by his
parents, Cecil and Inez
Gibson; sister, Catherine, and
brother, Oswald. Jim found
Christ in the First Baptist
Church of Denmark. He
attended Denmark High
School and was proud member
of the Great Dane's class of
'57. He loved going back to
Denmark and attending his
high school reunions. Jim was
a faithful servant and deacon
of Eastdale Baptist Church
from 1974 to present. He
served his country in the
USAF from 1959-1979 and
then worked for the City of
Montgomery for 20 years. A
former president of the
Montgomery Civitans, Jim
was honored as a fellow of the
Civitans International
Research Center for
extraordinary contributions in
leadership and community
service. He instructed many at
Troy State University at
Montgomery for 27 years. A Memorial service was
held at Eastdale Baptist
Church on Monday January 2,
2012.
Maida Croft Gué, 95, of
Norway, widow of Alton
Eugene Gué Sr., died Sunday,
January 8, 2012, at the
Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday,
January 11, 2012, at Willow
Swamp Baptist Church. Mrs. Gué was born in
Denmark, the daughter of the
late George W. Croft and
Bertha Tant Croft. She was a
member of Willow Swamp Baptist Church, where she
was very active. She also loved fishing and working in
her garden. She will be greatly
missed by all who knew her.
Jeff Utsey, 44, of Gulf
Breeze, FL passed away
unexpectedly at his home on
December 19, 2011, after
suffering from an extended
illness. He was born in
Orangeburg and moved to
Gulf Breeze in 1981. A private service will be
scheduled at a later date as his
ashes are scattered in the Gulf,
as he requested.
