In keeping with the time of
year, the weather was cold outside
early Monday morning at the
First Baptist Church of Bamberg.
But the inside of the church’s
fellowship hall was a beehive of
activity as volunteers scrambled
to fill dozens and dozens of
grocery baskets that were then
delivered to needy citizens in
Bamberg County just in time for
the holidays. Runnelle Weeks,
who is serving as coordinator of
the event again this year, noted
that approximately 300 packages
would be delivered to needy
families this year. Again this year
a large number of adults and
students from area high schools
served as volunteers filling and
delivering baskets. The following
volunteers worked to make this
year’s event a success:
