Funeral services for Mrs.
Inez Lee Carter, 79, were
held Saturday, November 12,
2011, at Bethlehem Baptist Church of
Olar. Mrs. Inez Lee Carter
was born on June 11, 1932,
to the late Walter and Marie
Lawton Lee in Olar.
At an early age, she
joined the Bethlehem Baptist
Church in Olar. She was
educated in the public
schools of Olar.
Mrs. Inez Carter
relocated to New York where
she resided over 30 years.
She was employed as a
Home Health Aide until she
retired. Upon retirement, she
relocated back to her home
of Olar.
Funeral services for
John Levi ‘Johnny’ Folk Jr.,
72, of Blackville, were held Monday,
November 21, 2011, at Trinity Baptist Church. Growing up in Bamberg
County, Johnny was a son of
the late John Levi Folk Sr.
and Alberta Odom Folk. He
was a member of Trinity
Baptist Church, retired from
the National Guard and from
the state having worked at DSS.
Funeral services for Mr.
William ‘Jabo’ Guess, 95, of
Denmark, were held Saturday, November 19,
2011, in the Denmark-Olar
High School gymnasium,
Denmark. He was born October 15,
1916, to the late Harold and
Lillie Mae Grimes Guess in
Aiken. Jabo, as he was
known by his many relatives
and friends, was a retired
construction supervisor and
farmer.
Funeral services for
Herman L. Hair, 66, were
held Sunday, November 20, 2011 at
Ashleigh Baptist Church. Born in Barnwell
County he was a son of the
late Benjamin Franklin Hair
and Meta Laird Hair Zissett.
Herman served in the National Guard for six years,
worked at Milliken for thirty-one years and was a
member of Ashleigh Baptist Church.
