Timothy McMillan Cox, 51,
of West Columbia, died early
Sunday morning, October 23, 2011,
at his residence. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Mr. Cox was born August 24,
1960, in Orangeburg. He was the
son of the late Vincent McCoy and
Jacqueline McMillan Cox. He was
a graduate of Neilson Electronics
Institute in Charleston and a member of Bethel Park United
Methodist Church of Denmark.
Funeral services for Marshall
Davis Sr., 88, Colleton County,
were held on Sunday, October 23,
2011 in the McQune
Branch Baptist Church in Lodge. Mr. Davis was born on June
23, 1923, in Colleton County to the
late Mr. Charlie Davis and Mrs.
Adeline Wiggins Davis. He was
educated in the public schools of
Colleton County. He served his
country with honors during World
War II from 1943 to 1946. He worked and retired from Savannah
River Site after 27 years of service.
Veta Morris Fail, 88, of Olar,
passed away Wednesday, October
19, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Veta was born September
10, 1923, in Bamberg County. She
was the daughter of the late Homer
and Hall Creech Morris. She was a
faithful member of Memorial
Baptist Church and was a loving
wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister and aunt. She will always be remembered by
those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 22, 2011,
at Memorial Baptist Church.
Harriett Elizabeth Kearse
Thompson, 91, widow of Waddy
Thompson and a member of Holy
Trinity Catholic Church in
Orangeburg, died Saturday,
October 22, 2011. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 25, 2011. She was proud to be a lifelong
citizen of Bamberg, and she devoted most of her life helping the
people of Bamberg as a nurse. She
was school nurse at Carlisle
Military School and then Director
of Nurses of Bamberg County Memorial Hospital for more than
two decades.
Funeral services for Mrs.
Mary R. Washington, 66, of
Denmark, were held Saturday, October 22, 2011, at
Rome Baptist Church in Denmark. She was born December 2,
1944, to the late Willis and Willa
Mae Washington in Denmark. At
an early age, she joined Rome
Baptist Church, where she served
on the missionary board and with
Society Circle #2. Mary was
educated in the Denmark public
school system. She was employed
at the Bamberg County Courthouse.
Funeral services for Charlie
Frank Williams, 69, of Denmark,
were held Friday, October 21, 2011, at Central Baptist Church
in Denmark. He was born in Bamberg
County on February 26, 1942, to
the late Mrs. Ella B. Williams. At
an early age, he joined Honey Ford
Baptist Church and later attended
Central Baptist Church. Charlie
attended the public schools of
Bamberg County. He worked for
and retired from Augusta Fiberglass
in Blackville and was a volunteer
with the Bamberg County Rescue
Squad.
