Bamberg County Sheriff’s
Department is busy
investigating a series of
burglaries in the county and
needs your help.
On September 8, officers
responded to a Farrell's Road
address regarding the theft of
a 6x12 foot trailer. The
complaint stated that the
trailer was black in color with
a mesh gate and wood floor.
The complaint stated the
trailer was parked in the yard
next to a larger trailer. There
was no evidence left behind.
The subjects or subjects are
unknown at this time. On
September 9, officers
responded to a larceny call at
another Farrell's Road address.
The victim stated that when
his son went outside to ride in
the golf cart, which had
already had its battery
removed and no keys left in
the ignition it was gone.
Deputies informed the victim
it would be a good idea to put
up some video camera and the
victim said he would.
On September 10, county
units received a call regarding
a break-in at a Heritage
Highway Address. On arrival
the victim stated that someone
had broken into his residence
and stolen his play station 3
along with several games
while his girlfriend was asleep
in the bedroom. The girlfriend acknowledged that she had
been drinking and “must have
been passed out” and did not
hear anything. The victim
stated that after he brought his
girlfriend home he left and
returned home to find his front
door had been kicked in. Also,
in the living room someone
had moved his large TV.
Officers reported there did
appear to be finger prints on
the TV but could not pull any.
On September 16, officers
responded to an address on
Main Highway and met with
an individual who said the
victim was his brother and he
had left his 18x7 foot
automotive trailer with ramps
and a silver tool box in front of his father in-law’s workshop
over night. When the victim
went back the following
morning, the trailer was
missing. The trailer was
described as red, but rusted.
On September 10,
Bamberg County Sheriff
Department officers responded
to a Cabbage Road address
where they met with a victim
who stated that someone stole
his chain saw and weed eater
from under his shed. The chain
saw brand was a 55 Rencher and
the weed eater was a
Husqvarna.
On September 20,
officers received a call from a
Gaskin Road address where
the victim stated someone had
taken most of the scrap metal
that was left behind after that
property was burnt. The victim
gave officers an address where
he said his property could be
found in Orangeburg County.
Officers responded to a
location in Orangeburg County
but were unable to locate the
missing property.
On September 24,
officers responded to a Ghents
Branch Road address where a
victim stated he was in the
process of moving into a new
resident and when he returned
the following morning he
found the south side window
broken. The home had been
entered, along with a storage
area and radios/TVs, tools,
lawn/yard and garden and
other items had been taken. On
September 26, officers
responded to an Edisto River
Road address and met with a
complainant who stated while
checking the property that
morning he found trailers and
other items had been moved.
There were tracks in a position
to tell that the items had been
removed from the out
buildings and loaded.
On September 29, County
units responded to a Heritage
Highway resident regarding a
burglary. The victim stated
that someone had stolen her 26
inch flat screen TV, jewelry
box that were in the victim’s
bedroom. The victim’s
daughter also had her high
school ring stolen. County
units could not find any
forcible entry into the
residence.
