formerly of White Plains, N.Y.,

Jerusalem Baptist Church in North. She was born in North, a
daughter of the late John Colter
and Mrs. Estelle Fields Colter.
The funeral service for Mr.
Ruby Donaldson, 86, of
Bamberg, formerly of Denmark,
was held Friday, August 5, 2011, at Mount Zion Baptist
Church in Lees. He was born May 2, 1925,
in Barnwell County to the late
James and Mary Donaldson.
Mr. Tyrone Anthony
‘Smitty’ Donaldson, 40, of
Blackville, died Friday, August
5, 2011.
Funeral services were held at Blackville-Hilda
High School Auditorium,
Blackville, on Sunday, August 7,
2011. Mr. Tyrone Anthony
Donaldson Sr., son of Donald
Elmore and Carolyn Bracey, was
born on May 6, 1971, in
Barnwell. Tyrone received his
education at Blackville-Hilda
High School and graduated in
1989. He furthered his education
by attending Denmark Technical
College.
Funeral services for Deacon
LeRoy ‘MAM’ Dowling, 82, of
Bamberg, were held on Monday,
August 8, 2011 in the
Union Baptist Church, Bamberg. He was born April 17, 1929,
to the late Martin and Rosa
Handy Dowling in Bamberg. He
was the last of 10 children.
"MAM," as he was known to his
many friends, was a member of
Eden Missionary Baptist
Church, where he served as
Deacon and Chairman of the
Deacon Board.
Funeral services for Mr.
Hydric Dyches, 74, of Denmark,
were held on Thursday, August
4, 2011 in the Cedar
Grove Baptist Church in
Norway. Mr. Dyches was born in
Bamberg on November 5, 1936,
to the late Oscar Armstrong and
Sarah Austin Dyches. He
attended the Bamberg County
Trade School.
Jennie Lou Dyches, 77, of
Eastover, died Saturday,
August 6, 2011, after an
illness. Funeral services were
held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in Orangeburg. Mrs. Dyches was born
August 5, 1934, in Bamberg
County, a daughter of the late
Herman Nathaniel Kittrell Sr.
and the late Minnie Darnell
Kittrell. She was a member of
the Canaan Baptist Church.
Mrs. Eugenia Strickland
Fender, known as ‘Bama’ to
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
90, of Ehrhardt, entered into eternal
rest Friday, August 5, 2011, at
Allendale County Hospital in
Fairfax. She was the widow of
Manning Rentz Fender, to
whom she was married for 45
years. Funeral services were
held Monday, August 8, 2011, at Pleasant Hill
United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fender was born
October 11, 1920, in the Little
Swamp Community, Bamberg
County, a daughter of the late
James Milton ‘Bub’ Strickland
and Ada Utsey Carter Strickland. She graduated
from Lodge High School.
Mrs. Barbara Glover, 61,
of Norway, died August 5,
2011, in an auto accident.
Funeral services were
held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at River Fork
Baptist Church in Bamberg. She was born November
14, 1949, in Bamberg County, a daughter of Dorothy D.
Proctor and the late Lennie Blume.
London L. Glover, 15, of
Norway, died August 5, 2011,
in an auto accident.

Baptist Church in Bamberg. He was born April 12,
1996, in Orangeburg County,
a son of Shasta Randolph and
Frankie Glover.

Jennie Mildred G. Hutto, 68,
of Bamberg, were held Friday,
August 5, 2011 in Spring Branch Baptist
Church, Bamberg. She died August 1, 2011,
at her home. She was born April 7,
1943, in Walterboro, the
daughter of the late George
William Guilford and the late
Ida Nettles. She was a
member of Spring Branch
Baptist Church, Bamberg.

Freddie Henry Hutson, 47, of

2011 in Williston. Freddie passed away
Sunday, August 7, 2011. Born in Bamberg, he was
a son of Corine Williams
Hutson and the late Woodrow
Hutson. He was a truck driver.
Zane Favion Proveaux,
seven days old, of Bamberg,
died August 5, 2011, at
Bamberg County Hospital,
Bamberg. Funeral services were
held Monday, August 8, 2011, in Bamberg Church
of God, Calhoun Street, Bamberg. He was born July 29,
2011, a son of Heather Camille Proveaux. His church
affiliation was Bamberg Church of God, Calhoun
Street, Bamberg.

Emma Lee (Shing) Sease, 74,
of Bamberg, were held Saturday, August 6, 2011, at
Gethsemane Baptist Church in
Bamberg. Mrs. Sease died Tuesday,
August 2, 2011, at the
Regional Medical Center in
Orangeburg. Mrs. Sease was born
August 12, 1936, in Bamberg
to the late Sammie Lee and
Polly McMillon. She was
educated at the Clear Pond
and Richard Carroll schools in
Bamberg County.
