With almost perfect weather
Saturday, the Winn Clary
Memorial Golf Tournament
kicked off Old Friends
Invitational Golf Classic week in
Bamberg at Paw Paw Country
Club. The tournament, named in
honor of one Bamberg’s most
outstanding citizens and
extremely popular sports editor
for The Advertizer-Herald
newspaper for several years, has
increasingly become more
popular each year.
The charity golf
tournament, founded by Winn’s
boyhood friend Jim Kemp,
raises funds for the non-medical
expenses of sick children and
their families in Bamberg
County.
The income raised is used
to buy gas or lodging or books in
the fall for a family in need.
Each year the event brings
together families and friends for
a day of fun, food and great golf.
