The funeral service for
Ms. Liza W. ‘Beauty’
Brabham, 87, of Bamberg,
were held Sunday,
February 13, 2011, in the
Union Baptist Church,
Bamberg. Ms. Brabham was born
April 4, 1923, in Bamberg
County to the late Henry and
Eveleana Ross Brabham. She
attended the public schools of
Bamberg County.
Mr. Joseph Samuel Folk
Sr., 68, of Ehrhardt, died
Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at
Bamberg County Hospital in
Bamberg after an extended
illness.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 11,
2011, at Ehrhardt Baptist
Church. Mr. Folk was born
September 10, 1942, in
Colleton County and was a son
of the late Samuel and Aline
Williamson Folk. He was a
former employee of Westinghouse and served his
country in the United States
Navy.
Debbie Jean Linley, 49, of
Norway, died Wednesday,
February 9, 2011, at her
residence. Funeral services were held
Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Norway Baptist
Church in Norway. She was born March 3,
1961, in Bamberg, the
daughter of the late Cecil
Monroe Cupp and the late
Annie Mae Axson Cupp
Crowl. She was a loving wife,
mother, sister, aunt,
grandmother and friend.
Funeral services for
Charles Martin, 76, of Holly
Hill, were held Friday, February 11, 2011, at
Bethel AME Church. Charles ‘Cha Cha’ Martin,
the son of the late Willie and
Ruth Smoak Martin, was born
September 22, 1934, in
Smoaks. At an early age, he
became a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rudene Taylor Gatch
Ray, 90, died on February 11th,
2011 at Magnolia Place at
Longwood Plantation in
Orangeburg. She was the
widow of the late James Allen
Gatch of Yemassee and the widow of the late H. Riley Ray of Olar.
Mrs. Ray was born in Hampton County to the late
Wilbur Benjamin and Beulah
Catherine Fabian Taylor. She
was a member of Ridgeville
Baptist Church in Early Branch,
SC where she was an active and
loyal member from childhood.
Funeral services for Mrs.
Johnnie Ann Beard Smoak, 80,
of Bamberg, were held Thursday, February 10, 2011, at
First Baptist Church in
Bamberg. She was born April 24,
1930, in Bamberg to the late
Henry Granite Beard and the late
Rossie Gray Beard. She was a
member of Great Swamp Baptist
Church in Walterboro.
Ralph E. Williams, 54, of
Neeses, died Wednesday,
February 9, 2011. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 12,
2011, at Bethel Pentecostal
Holiness Church in Salley. Mr. Williams was born in
Orangeburg County, a son of Jessie Ball Williams and the late
Vernell Williams. He was a
member of Bethel Pentecostal
Holiness Church. He was a
retired logger.
Funeral services for Mrs.
Evelyn Pauls Youngs, 86, of
Bamberg County Nursing
Home, were held Thursday, February 10, 2011, at
Mount Carmel United Methodist
Church. Mrs. Youngs was born on November 28, 1924,
in Bamberg County to the late
Willie and Lether Mitchell
Pauls, she attended the public
schools of Bamberg County. At
an early age, Evelyn joined
Mount Carmel United Methodist
Church, where she served
faithfully until her passing.
