Funeral services for
Homer Brabham, 65, of
Bamberg, were held Saturday, January 29, 2011, at
Union Baptist Church in
Bamberg. Mr. Brabham died
Saturday, January 22, 2011, at
his residence. He was born on June 6,
1945, to Rufus and Lisa
Brabham in Bamberg. He
joined Union Baptist Church
at a young age and became a
member until relocated to
Florida.
Mrs. Martha Hiatt ‘Evie’
Conard, 64, of Bamberg, died
Sunday, January 30, 2011, at
her residence.
The funeral was held Wednesday, February
2, 2011, in Orangeburg. She was born December
13, 1946, in Orangeburg, the
daughter of the late Melvin
Hiatt and the late Louise
Kinsey Hiatt. She was a member of Main Street Methodist Church in Bamberg.
Evelyn Virginia Wilson
Cope, 88, made a peaceful
journey home on Wednesday,
January 19, 2011, in Trident Medical
Hospital in North Charleston,
S.C., with her family around
her. Evelyn was born July 14,
1922, to the late Perry T. and
Eva Mae Brunson Wilson. Evelyn graduated from
Allendale High School. Funeral services were held Saturday, January
22, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church.
Charles Edward ‘Chuck’
Fickling, 76, of Orangeburg,
died Thursday, January 27,
2011, at his residence.
A memorial service was
held Sunday, January
30, 2011, in Orangeburg. He was born July 22,
1934, in Bamberg County, the
son of the late James Fickling
and the late Gladys Steinbraker Fickling. He
served in the U.S. Marines, and was retired from Albemarle.
James W. McCormick, 80,
of Denmark, died Monday,
January 24, 2011, at Bamberg
County Hospital in Bamberg.
Funeral services were
held Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Mount
Zion Baptist Church in Lees. Mr. McCormick, the son
of the late Bennie and Bessie Lawton McCormick, was born
October 3, 1930, in Rowesville. He was one of 10
children.
Mrs. Doris Richardson
Mears Ritchie, 93, of
Ehrhardt, entered into eternal
rest Monday, January 24,
2011. She was first married to
the late Willard E. Mears and
secondly to the late Hubert
Edmund Ritchie Jr. Funeral services were
held Friday, January
28, 2011, at Mount Pleasant
Lutheran Church in Ehrhardt.
Mrs. Ritchie was born September 11, 1917, in
Ehrhardt and was a daughter
of the late James Calvin Richardson and Florrie Mae
Bishop Richardson. She was a former employee of
Westinghouse and was a member of Mount Pleasant
Lutheran Church.
James E. ‘Head’ Wright,
63, of Denmark, died Tuesday,
January 25, 2011, at his
residence. Funeral services were
held Saturday, January
29, 2011, at Central Baptist
Church in Denmark. He was born April 14, 1947, to
the late Deacon Charlie and Bert George Wright in
Bamberg County, he was a faithful and dedicated member
of Central Baptist Church where he served on the trustee
board and as a member of the male choir.
