Joseph 'Joey' H. Belger Jr., age
51, of Grove City, Ohio, went to be
with the Lord on Tuesday, January
18, 2011. He was born in Orangeburg,
February 17, 1959, to Joseph 'Joe' H. Sr. and Dorothy Ann
(McMillan) Belger. A memorial service was held
Saturday, January 22, 2011.
Paul E. Broach, 67, of
Bamberg, formerly of Darlington,
died Wednesday, January 19, 2011.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 22, 2011. A memorial service was held at Bamberg Church of God on
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Mr. Broach was born in
Darlington County. He was the son
of the late Marion L. Broach Sr. and Myrtle Mae Dutton Broach.
Mrs. Sadell Tyler Faust, 90, of
Denmark died peacefully on
Monday, January 17, 2011, at
Ascension Hospice House in Irmo,
after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 22, 2011,
at Rome Baptist Church in Denmark. Mrs. Faust was born July 22,
1920, the second born of eight children to the late James E. and
Ethel Nimmons Tyler.
John D. Kent, 82, of Union
City, died peacefully on Saturday,
January 15, 2011, at Heartland
Health Center of Battle Creek.
He was a loyal and devoted
husband, father and grandpa. He
was born March 15, 1928, in Reed
City to Hervey L. and Clara
(Pepper) Kent.
Funeral services for Runette
Joyner Nix, 90, of Bamberg, were held Tuesday, January 25,
2011. Mrs. Nix died January 22,
2011, at UPAC of Bamberg. She was born January 31,
1920, in Bamberg, the daughter of the late Oscar Joyner and the late
Carrie Fail. She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Bamberg.
Mrs. Gwendolyn L. Raysor,
58, of Bamberg, died Friday,
January 14, 2011, at the Regional
Medical Center in Orangeburg.
Services were held on Friday,
January 21, 2011, at Mount
Zion United Methodist Church,
Midway community, Bamberg. She was born October 29, 1952, to the
late Hiriam Arnold and Virginia Lebby Williams, she was a lifelong
member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
Mr. Donald Judson Searson,
77, of Smoaks, died Saturday,
January 22, 2011, at MUSC.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Mr. Searson was born April
20, 1933, and was a son of the late Van and Hattie Searson. He was a
log truck driver and was a member of Little Swamp United Methodist Church.
Peter Raysor ‘Pete’ Stokes III,
65, of Rowesville, died at his
residence. A graveside service was held Thursday, January 20,
2011, at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Stokes was born in Pyote,
Texas, a son of Alice Tyler Stokes Hightower and the late Peter R.
Stokes Jr. He was formerly employed with McCall-Thomas
Engineering and the city of Orangeburg as a police officer.

‘Pookie’ Thomas, 44, of Bamberg,
was held Saturday, January
22, 2011, at Union Baptist Church
in Bamberg. She was born June 27, 1966, to Jesse
James and Vera Youmans Harvey in Bamberg, she was a graduate of
Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School's class of 1985.
