Sara Kneece Conard, 81, of Bamberg, widow of John Cordell Conard, died Thursday, December 30, 2010. Mrs. Conard was a native of Batesburg and a daughter of Benjamin and Clara Hallman Kneece. She was a homemaker, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, January 2, 2011.

Mrs. Mattielee Carter Craven, 82, of Smoaks, passed away at Roper Hospital in Charleston on December 30, 2010, surrounded by her loving family, after battling a brief illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Walterboro. She was born November 22, 1928, in Sumter, to the late Herbert Carter and Jessie Carter.

David O. Williams, 66 years of age, of Branchville, died December 30, 2010, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Mr. Williams was born in Bamberg County, a son of the late Olin Williams and Beatrice Bull Williams Byrd. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War; he loved to travel. A memorial graveside service was conducted Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery in Branchville.
