Bamberg County Memorial Hospital Administrator, CFO, Carl Menist has been placed on leave pending the completion of a financial audit McGregor and Company. According to hospital board Chairwoman Lou Ann Carter, the decision to place Menist on leave, with pay, was made after the hospital board reconvened from a closed meeting, to open session of a special call meeting on Sunday, December 26.

In a telephone interview Tuesday morning, Carter said that Menist has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the completion of a financial audit. Carter stated that a search for interim management is currently under way. Carter stressed that the decision to place Menist on administrative leave is in no way related to the tri-county healthcare initiative.

Along with his title of Bamberg County Memorial Hospital CFO, Menist assumed the role of Administrator/CFO in December of 2009.
