2011 New Year’s Resolutions
Amanda Crider, Contributor

2011 is here. Most
take this time to reflect on the
past year remembering goals
accomplished or remembering
where they may have fell short.
And so we begin to spin our
wheels upstairs as we firmly
dedicate ourselves to doing
better or doing more. That is
when our New Year’s
Resolutions are born as we
depart a year, beginning anew
with clear affirmation for the
goal ahead.
Here are just a few of the
goals set by area citizens to
start 2011 off with a bang:
“My resolution is to have a
prosperous New Year and good
health," said Lillian Folk.
Gina Ayers said, “I am
going to stop smoking, think
positive and stay healthy.”
Paula Brooker Guess said,
“I want to take better care of
myself and spend more time
with my family and stop and
smell the flowers not just the
roses.”
“My resolution is to spend
more money when it comes to
advertising with the Advertizer-Herald,” said Donald
Bessinger.
“My New Year’s
resolution is to make new
acquaintances and friends,
spend less money and work
harder to make my boss even
happier,” said Barbara Walden.
“I am going to have a
healthier eating lifestyle,” said
Ellen Benton.
“I can’t keep New Year’s
resolutions, so I don’t make
any,” said Gene Schwarting.
“I am going to do a better
job keeping up with my
laundry,” said Paige Kemp.
Harriett Goff said, “I am
going to live with no regrets.”
Shovone Gunnells said,
“My New Year’s resolution is
to be more independent for
myself.”
“My resolution is to try
and stay positive and have an
optimistic attitude,” said
Brandi Bell.
“My New Year’s
resolutions are to strengthen
my walk with Christ, have
more patience and focus on
today instead of tomorrow so
that I can live, laugh and love
everyday,” said Gwen Ryan.
Melanie Creel said, “I
want to walk closer with God
and teach people about His
mercy and peace.”
“My resolution is to pray
for the economy to turn
around,” said Carl Cope.
“My New Year’s
resolution for 2011 is to focus
on what’s more important in
life – serving God, family and
friends,” said Charlotte Hutto.
“My New Year’s
resolution is to be thankful for
the blessing of good health,”
said Duncan Williams.
These are just a few new
year's resolutions made by
Bamberg County residents all
made with good intentions.
Happy New Year...out with
the old and in with the new.
