Mrs. Pearl Ethel Bias, 82, of
Denmark died Tuesday, December 7,
2010, at Ascension Hospice House
in Irmo. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 11, 2010,
at Franklin United Methodist Church
in Denmark. Mrs. Bias, daughter of the late
Milford and Gussie Rice, was born
November 28, 1928, in Bamberg
County. She was married to the late
Charles Henry Bias.
Kathleen Castleberry
Copeland, 88, of Ehrhardt, died
Friday, December 10, 2010, in
Amarillo. Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Kathleen was born March 10,
1922, in Orangeburg, SC, to Fred B.
and Rebecca Castleberry. She served
as a Navy Nurse Corp Officer during WWII.

Wesley Croft, 80, of Bamberg, were
held Tuesday, December 14,
2010. He was Born in Barnwell County, he
was a son of the late Edward J. and
Ellen Argoe Croft. He was a retired
truck driver, dairy farmer, attended
Open Arms Ministry, loved fishing,
gardening, and working in his yard.
Mary Emily Platt Jackson, wife
of the late Nelson Jackson III, of
Ocean Lakes Campground, Myrtle
Beach, died Saturday, December 11,
2010, at her residence. She was born and raised in
Conway, the daughter of the late Mary Cornelia Dusenbury.
Funeral services for Malcolm R.
Rast Jr., 62, of Cameron, were held Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at
Four Holes Baptist Church in
Orangeburg. Mr. Rast was born February 6,
1948, in Orangeburg County, the son
of the late Malcolm Rudolph Rast Sr.
and the late Helen Loretta Braswell
Rast. He was retired from the USAF
as a SMSGT McIntyre ANG 169 Fighter Wing. He served in Desert
Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

December 14, 2010, at Franklin
United Methodist Church, Denmark.
Edna Taylor Sandifer, 87, died
Tuesday, December 7, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, S. M. “Sandy” Sandifer and
her daughter, Carol S. Skinner. Edna
was a longtime member of Grace
Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Friday, December 10, 2010.

Virginia T. Seay, 87, wife of the late
Rev. Walter R. Seay was held Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at
Ghents Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Seay went to be with her
Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2010.
Born in Pacolet, SC she was a daughter of the late Thomas and
Maggie Dunaway Threadgill. She was
a homemaker, a member of Ghents
Branch Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Autie
Wactor Smoak, 78, of The Oaks were
held Tuesday, December 14,
2010. Mrs. Smoak died Sunday,
December 12, 2010, at the Methodist
Oaks in Orangeburg. She was born October 3, 1932, in
Orangeburg County, the daughter of
the late Willie Cleo Wactor and the late
Annie Mae Corbitt Wactor. She was a
member of Edisto Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs.
Lumisha "Barbara" Wroten, 60, of
Blackville, were held Saturday, December 11, 2010, in the
Denmark-Olar High School gymnasium in Denmark. Mrs. Wroten died Tuesday,
December 7, 2010, at Providence
Hospital in Columbia. She was born September 9,
1950, in Allendale County to the late
Deacon Moses and Annie Ruth Washington Allen. Lumisha was a
graduate of Macedonia High School in
Blackville. She worked for Bamberg School District 2
at Denmark-Olar High School as a
cafeteria manager.
