Funeral services for Geneva Clair Townsend Bell, 73, of St. Matthews, were held Friday, December 3, 2010, at Gethsemane Baptist Church in St. Matthews. Born in St. Matthews, she was a daughter of the late Baxter Townsend and Mary Lever Townsend. She formerly worked for United Technologies as an assembly operator and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

The funeral for Mr. Herbert Alvin Braxton, 70, of Bamberg, was held Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in the First Baptist Church of Bamberg. Mr. Braxton died Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Bamberg County Hospital. He was born on May 28, 1940, in Kline, a son of the late John Gilmore Braxton and the late Geneva C. Padgett. He was the husband of Hope H. Braxton.

Mrs. Emma Davis, 74, of Lynchburg, Va., formerly of Bamberg, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Bamberg. Born August 13, 1936, in Bamberg to the late Charles and Lumisha Turner, she received her education in the public schools of Bamberg County.

Leon Faust Sr., 90, of Denmark entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Ascension Hospice House in Irmo. Funeral services were held Friday, December 3, 2010, at Rome Baptist Church in Denmark. Mr. Faust was born August 6, 1920, the last child born to the late Eddie and Janie Daniels Faust.

Mr. Dossie Russell Gaskins Jr., 68 years of age, died Friday, December 3, 2010. Mr. Gaskins was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Dossie R. Gaskins Sr. and Lillian Ruth Gaskins. Mr. Gaskins loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was employed by Albemarle Corporation for 28 years before he retired. Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 6, 2010.

Services for Adell Conelly Grimes, 97, of Blackville, were held Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Olar. Mrs. Grimes died November 29, 2010, at Laurel Baye Healthcare in Blackville. She was born August 14, 1913, in Allendale County, to the late Willie Conelly, Sr. and Henrietta Williams Conelly. She was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Olar.

Joseph Richard Grooms Sr., 52, of Bamberg, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at his residence. A memorial service was held Wednesday, December 8, 2010. He was born January 11, 1958, in Bamberg, the son of Sarah Braham Grooms and the late Joe Frank Grooms.

Ida Mae Rozier Hutto, 85, of Bamberg, died Thursday, December 2, 2010, at UniHealth Post-Acute Care in Bamberg. The funeral service was held Saturday, December 4, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Bamberg. She was born April 9, 1925, in Arco, Ga., to the late Alvin W. Rozier and the late Ida Gunnells Rozier. She was the widow of James Hutto and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bamberg. She enjoyed baking, square dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pearl Knight Love, 93, of Blackville, died at her daughter's residence in Barnwell December 1, 2010. Funeral services were held Friday, December 3, 2010. Mrs. Love was born September 19, 1917, in Orangeburg County. She was a daughter of the late Daisy Johnson Knight and Luke Knight.
