Mr. John William Fogle, 87,
of Orangeburg, died Friday
morning, November 19, 2010, at
Magnolia Place in Orangeburg.
The funeral was held Sunday, November
21, 2010, at St. George Baptist
Church in Orangeburg. He was born December 27,
1922, in Orangeburg, the son of
the late Zachariah Alonzo Fogle
and the late Rubie Hansel Stack
Fogle. He served in the U.S.
Army and was a veteran of
World War II.
Mrs. Viola S. Hanberry, 77,
of Denmark, widow of Ralph D.
Hanberry Sr., died Thursday,
November 18, 2010, at Laurel
Baye Healthcare in Orangeburg.
She was the daughter of the
late William Fred and Daisy
Leola Smith. She was born in
Salem on November 1, 1933.
Mrs. Hanberry was a member of
the Church of God of Prophecy
in Denmark. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 20,
2010, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Denmark.
The funeral for James
Wright Jr. "Harper," 58, of
Bamberg, was held Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at
Cedar Grove Baptist Church in
Norway. He was born December 4,
1942, in Orangeburg County. He
was the son of the late James and
Pearlie Tyler Wright Sr. At an
early age, he joined the Cedar
Grove Baptist Church. He
attended the local public schools
and worked most of his life in
the pulpwood industry.
Marvin Nichols Jarrell, 70,
of Bamberg, left to be with the
Lord on Saturday, November 20,
2010, at Providence Hospital in
Columbia. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 23,
2010. Mr. Jarrell was born on
December 22, 1939, in Baxley,
Ga., a son of the late Henry R.
Jarrell and the late Eva Mathis Jarrell.
Walter Lee Strickland, 77,
of Denmark, died Friday,
November 19, 2010, at
Providence Hospital in
Columbia. Funeral services were held Monday, November 22,
2010, at Bethel Baptist Church
in Cope. He was born January 4,
1933, in Elloree, the son of the
late Isaiah Strickland and the
late Flora Thomas Strickland.
He served in the U.S. Army and
was a veteran of the Korean
Conflict. He was retired from
Albemarle. He was an avid
NASCAR fan and a USC Gamecock fan.
