Funeral services for Ms. Martha Jeffery, 59, of Denmark, were held Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Denmark- Olar High School's gymnasium. Ms. Martha "Tiny" Jeffery, daughter of the late Brook Benton and Dorothy Heyward, was born on February 22, 1951, in Kershaw County.

The funeral for Lester S. "Pop" Mealy, 89, of Ehrhardt, and formerly of Orangeburg, were held Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Journey Community Church on Edisto Drive in Orangeburg. He was born December 26, 1920, in Missouri, the son of the late William Lester Mealy and the late Henrietta Henderson Mealy.

Mrs. Clara Smoak Sandifer, 80, of Smoaks, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her home. She was the widow of Mr. Laurie L. Sandifer. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Mrs. Sandifer was born December 1, 1929, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Nathan Henry Smoak and Katie Benton Smoak.

The funeral for Gloria Grimes Thames, 71, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and formerly of Bamberg, was held Sunday, November 7, 2010, in the Eden Baptist Church in Bamberg. She was born to Essie R. and Reddick Grimes on March 18, 1939, in Bamberg.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice Pauline Crider Brown Zorn, 91, of Denmark, were held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at The First Baptist Church of Denmark. She was born June 15, 1919, in Denmark.
