Mrs. Mary Bartley, 79, of Irmo, and formerly of Bamberg, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Ascension Hospice House in Irmo. Services will be announced at a later date.

Funeral services for David Butler, 57, of Bamberg, were held Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Claflin United Methodist Church, Bamberg. He was born February 2, 1952, in Colleton County, to the late William and Lugenia Jordan Butler Jr.

Funeral services for Rebecca "Beck" Kinard Caples, 79, of New York, N.Y., formerly of Bamberg, were held Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Bamberg. Rebecca was born to the late Benjamin and Mary Ella Kinard on February 3, 1931, in Bamberg.

Mr. Ernest C. Duncan of Chicago, formerly of Denmark, died Saturday, July 17, 2010. He was the son of the late Mr. Johnnie Duncan and Mrs. Lillie Mae Duncan. Funeral plans will be announced.

Margaret Russell Garrett, 84, of Bamberg, widow of Al Garrett, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Peper Hill Nursing Center in Aiken. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Spring Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Garrett was born July 26, 1925, in Eutawville, a daughter of the late Marvin Russell and Marie Crummie Russell.

Funeral services for Jennie "Ms. Tippy" Marie Carswell Hibbert, 60, of Denmark, were held Friday, July 16, 2010, at Rome Baptist Church in Denmark. Jennie was born October 27, 1949, in Bamberg County to the late Freddie Lee and Lovely Riley Carswell.

Louise Rivers Mayes, 90, of Chandler, Ariz., formerly of Bamberg, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Union Baptist Church in Bamberg. She was born March 15, 1921, to the late Otis and Sheldonia Rivers in Bamberg.
