Mary "Louise" Brabham Brown, 71, of Bamberg, passed away Thursday evening, July 1, 2010, at her residence. A memorial service was held Sunday, July 4, 2010. Mrs. Brown was born in Bamberg, a daughter of the late Willie Brabham and Emily Bunch Brabham.

Heyward Laverne "Vern" Creech, 67, of Rowesville, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in Charleston. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 3, 2010. He was born June 29, 1943, in Bamberg County, the son of the late Eddie Heyward Creech and the late Dorothy Davis Creech. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Vietnam, where he served two tours of duty. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Funeral services for Mr. Herman Hutto, 56, of Williston, were held Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Blackville. Mr. Hutto was born July 5, 1953, to the late Solomon Wright and Gladys Hutto Gardner in Blackville.

Evelyn Bell Jeffcoat, 86, of Denmark, passed away July 3, 2010, at her residence (the home where she was born). She was born March 2, 1924. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Denmark.
