Two injured in car-truck collision |

A logging truck and a
Dodge Ram pickup collided
Tuesday afternoon at the
intersection of Highway 70
(Country Club Road) and Guess
Road injuring the driver and
passenger of the pickup. The
driver of Mike’s Logging out of
Conway, SC was uninjured.
Injured in the accident was the
driver, Annie Lou Mayes and her
daughter ChrisAnn Mayes.
Annie Lou is the sister of the
Reverend Rufus Jamison of
Denmark. ChrisAnn Mayes, the
passenger in the pickup had to
be extracted from the heavily
damaged vehicle.
The Dodge pickup was
traveling south on Guess Road
and attempting to cross
Highway 70 when the logging
truck, traveling east on Highway
70 crashed into the passenger
side of the pickup.
According to Rev. Jamison,
ChrisAnn suffered a neck injury
and internal bleeding. Annie Lou
suffered minor injuries. “Both
are doing well now,” said
Jamison last week. The
Denmark fire department
responded within minutes,
according to Jamison.”
