Mrs. Helen Ficken Bishop, 91, formerly of Ehrhardt, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care. Funeral services were held Friday, June 4, 2010, at Ehrhardt Baptist Church, Ehrhardt. Mrs. Bishop was born May 3, 1919, in Early Branch and was the widow of Blanchard Thurston Bishop.

Charles Edward Haste ‘Willie’, son of the late Charles E. Haste Sr. and Gladys (Brown) Haste Thompson, born September 4, 1929, departed this life, May 22, 2010, at the South River Rehabilitation Center in Edgewater, MD. A Christian Wake was held Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Annapolis, MD.

The funeral for Mrs. Ruth Allen Moody Morant, 59, of Columbia, was held Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Thankful Baptist Church in Bamberg. Ruth was born on December 4, 1950, in Bamberg County. She is the daughter of the late Charlie and Eartha M. Rivers-Moody Jr.

Services for Samuel Melton Odom Sr., 71, of Bamberg, were held Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Bamberg. He was born on January 2, 1939, in Bamberg County to the late Blanch Harley Odom Williams and Willie Odom Sr.
