Funeral services for Hakeem Terrance Duncan, 21, of Denmark, were held Friday, May 28, 2010, at Orange Grove United Methodist Church in Bamberg. Hakeem was born January 28, 1989, to Harold Mack Duncan and Terri Bonny in Brooklyn, N.Y.

James Gardner ‘Jimmy’ Formby, 68, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Denmark, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at North Kansas City Hospital. A graveside service was held Sunday, May 30, 2010, in the Denmark Cemetery. He was born March 20, 1942, in Savannah, Ga., to the late Alfred Candler Formby and the late Dorothy Grace Kendall Formby.

Funeral services for Willie Kelly, 64, of Bamberg, were held Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Savannah Creek Baptist Church in Ehrhardt.

Mrs. Joyce Major Napier, 58, of Yatesville, Ga., died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Coliseum Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Thomaston Upson County Civic Center in Georgia. Mrs. Napier, the daughter of Mr. Solomon Major Jr. and Mrs. Bertha Major, was born in Denmark.

Funeral services for Samuel "Snap" Parler, 63, of Denmark, were held Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Franklin United Methodist Church, Denmark. Mr. Parler was born February 10, 1947, to the late Willie James and Lillie Mae Daniels Parler in Bamberg County.
