The funeral service for Mr. Henry Clay Livingston, 83, of Springfield, was held Friday, May 21, 2010, at the New Beginning United Methodist Church in Norway. Mr. Livingston, a son of the late Henry Clay Livingston and Lovader Washington Livingston, was born March 4, 1927, in Orangeburg County.

Esther Riley Owen, 99, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at her home in Alexian Grove in Chattanooga, Tenn. Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in Denmark Cemetery. Mrs. Owen was the daughter of William Lewis Riley and Anna Esther Elwell Riley.

Heyward "Buddy" Sandifer, 72, of Bamberg, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 22, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Bamberg. He was born March 3, 1938, in Bamberg to the late Heyward Sandifer Sr. and the late LuLa Mae Bunch Sandifer.

The funeral for Mrs. Madell Tarrant, 86, of Riverdale Nursing Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., and formerly of Bamberg, was held Friday, May 12, 2010, at St. John Baptist Church in Bamberg. One of 13 children, she was born to Mary Ellen Hiers-Ransom and Jacob Ransom.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carinea S. Toon, 72, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Williams, were held Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Springtown United Methodist Church in Smoaks. She was born January 30, 1938, in Colleton County to the late Dorsey and Rosa Lee Stephens.
