Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Clanton, 81, of Queens, N.Y. and formerly of Denmark, S.C., were held Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Honey Ford Baptist Church in Denmark. She was born April 24, 1929, in Bamberg County to the late Robert and Mary Nimmons. She was the seventh child of nine children.

Mr. Larry Dean Edwards, 63, of Branchville, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Charleston. Mr. Edwards was born October 24, 1946, in Lumberton, N.C., a son of the late Dewitt Edwards and Martha Vaughn Edwards. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Edisto Baptist Church.

Ernest Graham, 68, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Bamberg, died Friday, April 30, 2010, in Brooklyn. Funeral services were held Friday, May 7, 2010, at Union Baptist Church in Bamberg.

A graveside service for Jerry Keith Proveaux Sr., 55, of Cordova, was held 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. He was born January 9, 1955, in Bamberg, the son of the late Jerry (Arnie) Proveaux and the late Barbara Joyce Mishoe Varner.

Mrs. Peggy Annette Bishop Stanley Tuten, 60, of Early Branch, died Tuesday, evening, May 4, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Port Royal. She was born December 16, 1949, in Orangeburg, and was the daughter of the late William James Bishop and Pearl Stephens Bishop. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 8, 2010.
