Rodney Christopher "Hot Rod" Beason, 35, of Bamberg, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Sunny Vista Church of God. Mr. Beason was born in Orangeburg, a son of Mary Louise Lubkin Beason and the late Ronnie C. Beason.

Mr. Cecil Campbell, 56, of Cordova, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at his residence. Memorial services were held Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Victory Hill Church of God on Cannon Bridge Road in Cordova. Mr. Campbell was born July 15, 1953, in Orangeburg, a son of Daisy Mae Chavis Campbell and the late Nora Junior Campbell.

Elizabeth Halyard, 95, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and formerly of Bamberg, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Interfaith Hospital of Brooklyn. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Halyard was born to the late Arthur Orr and Jerusha Orr Odom on July 23, 1914, in Bamberg County.

Mildred Virginia Gaskins Herron, 81, of Lexington, met her Savior on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Funeral services were held Friday, April 16, 2010. Ms. Herron was born in Bamberg County, a daughter of the late Pete Gaskins and Mildred Cave Gaskins.

Molly Styne Manning, 99, of Bamberg, died Sunday evening, April 11, 2010, in Bamberg. Mrs. Manning was born in New York City, N.Y., a daughter of the late Walter and Bertha Loso Styne.

Funeral services for MSgt. Marvin P. "Bud" Rucker Jr., USAF Ret., 62, of Branchville, were held Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Bud was a veteran, who loved his family and his country. He served 24 years in the Air Force and earned numerous medals and ribbons. Bud was also a second lieutenant and pilot in the Civil Air Patrol, where he received a Silver Medal of Valor in 1983 for heroic life-saving measures.
