Kindness And Going Home To Heaven
God loved us so much that He
sent His only son, Jesus Christ,
into the world that whoever would
believe should not perish but have
everlasting life.
As we approach Easter
Sunday the day that Christ rose
from the grave and returned to
Heaven let’s look at how kind God
has been to us and that He tells us
we should be kind to all people not
just to our friends and family.
The Bible says in Galatians
5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness and faith.”
Gentleness can be translated into
kindness. Jesus said, “Love the
Lord your God with all your mind,
heart, soul and strength, and your
neighbor as yourself.” What Jesus
was saying in this verse was if
your relationship with others is not
right then nothing is going to be
right.
God our Father has shown us
his kindness and love so we are to
be kind to others like Christ has
been kind to us. We are to be
gentle and humble to others even
though we feel they have offended
us. We must share each others
troubles and problems.
Being kind means that we
must always be truthful to our
friends. Jesus tells us the truth and
said, “Youwill know the truth and
the truth will set you free.”
David was a man after God’s
own heart although he was a sinner
just like you and I are. We must
always be truthful to others
although often times the truth hurts
and we must always forgive and
forget as Jesus forgives and forgets
our sins.
Some people have the wrong
concept of God. They don’t see
God as kind when He always is.
We all know that God is our best
friend.
Romans 3:23-24 reads, “All
of us have sinned, yet now God
declares us not guilty of offending
Him if we trust in Jesus Christ
who, in His kindness, freely takes
away our sins.” God declares us
not guilty and has given us all
second chances.
Let’s look at ourselves
through the eyes of God who
loved us so much that He sent His
only son, Jesus Christ, into the
world that whoever would believe
should not perish but have
everlasting life.
No doubt about it Jesus is so
kind to us therefore we should
always be kind to others. God
loves us and is our best friend and
He proved that when His son Jesus
Christ rose from the grave on
Easter Sunday and went back to
His home in Heaven to be with His
Father once again.
The story is told about a
missionary and his wife who had
served for many years in Africa
working to win people to Jesus
Christ and to help them in anyway
they could.
After their time to serve in
Africa was up they boarded a ship
that would carry them back to
New York. It happened that
President Teddy Roosevelt was on
the same ship returning to his
home in New York after a hunting
trip in Africa. Most everyone on
the ship was having their picture
made with the president and
getting his signature but no one
paid any attention to the well known
missionary and his wife.
When the ship docked in
New York the reception for
President Roosevelt was great.
People cheered and welcomed him
back home but no one greeted the
missionary and his wife after years
of serving God in Africa.
The missionary became bitter
about what had happened and after
they arrived at their residence in
Vermont his wife suggested that he
go in the bedroom get on his knees
and ask God to speak to him about
what had happened. In a half hour
or so the missionary returned from
the bedroom with a smile on his
face. When his wife asked him
what had happened he said, “God
put his hand on my shoulder and
said, but you are not home yet.”
